Waskesiu Lake is located in the heart of Prince Albert National Park, a vast wilderness that is just waiting to be explored. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a casual nature enthusiast, there is something for everyone. From towering forests to crystal-clear lakes, and the Northern Lights, this truly is a special place.
Unleash Your Adventurous Spirit
For those seeking a thrill, there are endless opportunities for adventure at Waskesiu Lake. Rent a canoe or kayak, or hit one of the many the trails on a mountain bike. For a truly unforgettable experience, why not try your hand at stand-up paddle-boarding (SUP). Our favourite paddle loop is from the bridge that goes over the Waskesiu River, on the way to the marina to Waskesiu Lake, then back to our starting point. There is a good launch site just past the bridge on the left hand side as you drive towards the marina.
SUP, canoes and kayaks can be rented at the Waskesiu Marina, while the Grey Owl Center has SUPs and bikes to rent. They can also give your bike a tune up if needed. A newer option that we found a lot of fun was renting electric fat bikes from Tree-O-Six right in Elk Ridge. Tree-O-Six also offers zip lines, a climbing wall, disc golf, and a giant swing.
If you’re into boating, Waskesiu Lake has it all. Two marinas with so many areas to wakeboard, ski, foil, sail, and fish.
